Description

This DIY egress window kit is a cost-effective solution to making sure the basement in your new home or remodel meets all IRC building codes for emergency escape. It also helps open the space to bring in more natural light and improve ventilation.

This kit includes a window, Boman Kemp window well, well cover, grate and escape ladder. The well is made of galvanized steel, finished to mimic the look of real stacked stone. The kit's single-hung window doubles as an in-swing window for a fast and easy exit in case of fire or other life-threatening event. Its double paned Low-E glass has a U-value of 0.29 and includes a fiberglass screen.

The well's steel grate and clear, polycarbonate plastic well cover work together to keep out dirt, water and other debris out of the well, while also preventing accidental fall-ins by animals and children.

Available in 6 window and well size options, the kit will accommodate an area up to approximately 70 square feet. Multiple windows can be used in the same room to increase the serviceable area to meet, or exceed, the size of the room. When ordering please choose the hinge side based on the orientation of looking from inside the room looking out.
